TimeSlips: Offering FREE Training to WI nursing homes
Anne Basting, 2016 MacArthur Fellow and founder of TimeSlips has a wonderful offer for 50 Wisconsin-based skilled nursing homes. Please invite WI-based nursing homes to join the Creative Community of Care training for FREE!
With support from the WI Department of Health Services, Division of Quality Improvement in Long-Term Care, this local non-profit invites nursing homes to participate in the Creative Community of Care training and consulting package that uses creative engagement techniques to build and strengthen relationships between residents, staff, families and their communities. This person-centered, evidence-based, life-enriching training program, is valued at $3,000.
“TimeSlips improves the well-being of elders by infusing creativity in care relationships and systems,” said Anne Basting, TimeSlips founder and president. “TimeSlips provides simple tools, training, and inspiration to families, volunteers, staff and students, in all settings. We are excited to have this opportunity to implement our work on a large scale in Wisconsin.”
A recorded webinar reviewing the program details and a link to the application are on the website, www.timeslips.org. Applications are due by Monday, October 31st, 2016.
Additional Fun information:
In an effort to support our overall mission of reducing stigma of those living with dementia, the TimeSlips’ stories gathered throughout the year will be shaped by WI artists (supported by a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts) into a statewide celebration in May of 2017. We will have a huge display at the WI Alz & Dementia conference and 5 Wisconsin Public Radio spots which will begin airing in May of 2017. Images are being donated for these stories from at least 5 museums from around WI.
Anne Basting was announced as a recipient of of the MacArthur Fellowship award by the John. D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. https://www.macfound.org/fellows/956/
