2021 WRAP Conference:
Wisconsin Representatives of Activity Professionals (WRAP) Presents their 43rdAnnual WRAP Conference “Be The Beacon” Wednesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Hotel Marshfield in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Plans are underway to provide YOU with a live conference in 2021. There will be some changes. More details will be coming but start planning now.
Dates: We have shortened our conference to TWO days. Wednesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 23.
Place: We have moved our conference to Marshfield. We were originally planning on Manitowoc but the Holiday Inn (and other area hotels) are not able to accommodate us due to the rescheduling of the 2020 Ryder Cup to September 2021.
Schedule: We will start the conference at 8:30 am with registration on Wednesday, September 22 and it will end Thursday, September 23 at 4 pm. Our traditional banquet will be held during the lunch hour on Thursday.
Cultural Arts: We will not have “live” exhibits but will have a virtual showing of all the entries. Registration will be online: http://wrap-wi.org/conferences/cultural-arts/ Deadline: August 25.
Vendors: We will not have Vendors in person but will have a Virtual Vending Listing given to attendees, listed on our WRAP website and Facebook pages.
Scholarship events: We will be moving forward with our Scholarship Bingo Event on Wednesday evening of the conference. We will NOT be hosting the Silent Auction this year.
Awards: We will be having Awards this year and the deadline date for that is June 30, 2021. Description of the awards and the submission form can be found on our website: http://wrap-wi.org/award-nominations/
Sessions: All of our sessions will be in the Grand Ballroom where we can observe the 6 feet distance guideline. There will not be concurrent sessions so no need to sign up for specific sessions. There will be a total of 9 CEs for the two-day conference. There will not be a “pre-con” session this year but rather all sessions will be included in the two-day rate.
Rooms: Hotel Marshfield is offering a room rate of $109/night (plus taxes) and that includes breakfast. You may opt to stay Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday at the rate, depending on your schedule. You can call Hotel Marshfield at 715.387.2700 to reserve your room. Be sure to ask for the WRAP discount.
How much will the conference cost? We are working on those details and will have the brochure ready for publication in June 2021 with all details.

WRAP 2020 Conference Cancelled
Given the continually evolving nature of COVID-19, and our concern for the health and safety of our members and the care communities they work in, the WRAP Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the WRAP Annual Conference which was scheduled for September 23-25, 2020 in Marshfield, WI. We want to thank the Marshfield Hotel for their kindness and support in our decision. The WRAP conference will be returning to Marshfield in 2022 . . . in two years. WRAP was pleased to present a one-day Virtual Conference on Sept 24, 2020. The day started with the Annual Membership meeting, followed by four sessions and ended with the Installation of the 2020/2021 WRAP Officers. If you are interested in seeing the flyer from that day, Here it is.
Welcome to our Virtual Vendor Showcase! Since we were unable to have our WRAP Conference in Marshfield in September 2020 due to COVID-19, we invited our Vendors to come alongside of us as we all go Virtual! Check them out and consider supporting their business!

Memorable Pets & Believable Babies
Hello WRAP! Thank you for the opportunity to tell the you all a little bit about our organization. My name is Bettina Rusher. In a nutshell, we educate and sell comfort therapy products for Seniors, especially for those with dementia.
Our focus is on realistic looking stuffed animal dogs and cats, plus robot dogs and cats. We also have realistic looking baby dolls and Reborn Babies which are extremely real looking, weighted, and real feeling dolls. We have products in many sizes, ethnicities, and price points.
I left corporate America to start Memorable Pets with my sister. We began is 2010 after our mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and she had to give up her real beloved cat named Caldonia. You can read our entire story “An Unexpected Blessing” on our website. Initially, we gave realistic stuffed animal dogs and cats as gifts and then we were amazed at what was happening and the bonds that were created. In 2015 we added baby dolls and in 2017 we added robotic pet products.
The most important thing that I have learned along my journey is “As Alzheimer’s disease progresses into the mid-late stages, the need to nurture, love and be loved increases. It is one of the last emotions to go.” I learned this at the 2012 conference of the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatrists in Washington DC. This important fact is why Baby Doll Therapy and Stuffed Animal Therapy work. These types of theapies are great tools to help people with dementia live their final years with some comfort, happiness and the need to nurture satisfied.
